Outtakes

If any of you have ever tried to take photos of your children, you will know exactly what I'm talking about. Surely my child would love to play in a big pile of leaves with her brother. Well not the case with a camera around. Analy did tolerate the leaves here and there but for the most part she just screamed.
Here's her first introduction to the leaves. You can see she is not liking the idea.
It gets even worse when Mathias tries to show her how to play in the leaves.
Complete meltdown when she has to lay down in the leaves.

Even later that evening, a ride in the wheelbarrow was too much.
I hope I don't have a little drama queen on my hands!
(Disclaimer: No children were tortured in the making of these photos :)

Fall Photo Shoot

Leaves are really falling in our yard. We haven't had any rain for weeks so I think they are just dying and falling. Anyway, before it does rain and slimes our leaves all up, I decided to get some photos of Mathias and Analy playing in the leaves. Mathias thought it was a wonderful idea. He loved watching his mama rake up a pile of leaves. He loved it even more when I told him to sit and play in them. On the other hand, Analy hated the very idea of being in the leaves. She screamed every time I even sat her on the ground near them. I did manage to get a few photos between the screams.

Pumpkin Patch

Our family finally made it out to the pumpkin patch today. Before going, we watched "The Great Pumpkin" several times to put us all in the mood. Mathias just stood in awe looking at the sea of pumpkins.
Then he decided he needed to sprint around them as fast as he could.
He wanted to check out every pumpkin, even the poor ones sitting all by themselves at the bottom of the hill.
Mathias finally discovered that he could pick up the small pumpkins.
The "patch" we visited is right on 441 so Mathias was easily distracted by all the "big trucks."
Most of the pumpkins were bigger than Analy, but she didn't seem intimidated.
She enjoyed giving them a good pat.
 Here's her happy scarecrow face!
 Peek-a-boo!
Analy preferred the shady tent (since it was a blazing 90 degrees).
This was as close as I got to getting a photo of the two of them together. Mathias ran around the tent grabbing and throwing small pumpkins. Thankfully, there were no casualties!
After we finally picked our family pumpkin and the sweet lady sent our kids away with a little pumpkin of their own, Mathias had to check out their tractor to make his trip complete.
He even got to sit on it.
And pretend to drive. I think he would have sat there all day in the blazing sun.
Everyone was happy with our pumpkin choices.
We'll enjoy them for a few days before we get the knife after them.

33 years old!

October 7, we celebrated Jamie's birthday. For supper we had sushi (no worries, no raw fish just crab meat and veggies). Analy enjoyed it. Mathias really wasn't interested until we let him try so chopsticks.

He did about as well as I usually manage.
He liked to lick off the soy sauce.
Mathias also enjoyed helping open presents.
Happy Birthday to a wonderful husband and father. Praise God for His blessings!

Hanging Out

Since I got a phone call yesterday from someone complaining that I hadn't blogged in a while and there was no way he could keep up with his niece and nephew, I figured I needed to download my photos and post a few things. A few weeks ago, we got to take our youth group to Oleno State Park. It's one of our family's favorite places to go hang out. Mathias loved the play ground. He enjoyed the tallest slide.

And loved hanging on the bar. He kept begging me to lift him up and he would just hang there as long as he could.
I didn't get any photos of Analy at the park but look at this spot she got herself.
