My kids were fearless. They went straight for the water and waves every time. You definitely had to be on your toes!
They loved playing in the sand. Digging “King Tut tombs” and making “volcanoes” instead of sandcastles.
Jamie, for some reason, enjoyed burying the kids every chance he got. Here’s Mathias as a merman.
And Analy as a mermaid.
Mathias and one of his many volcanoes.
Analy enjoyed chilling and snacking under the umbrella with Mama.
And here are my poor children buried up to their necks.
We spent most of our time on the beach, in the pool, or relaxing in our room. We did manage to treat ourselves to a boat ride from Amelia Island to Cumberland Island.
Getting ready to ride…

Analy taking the wheel for a while.
Overall, our first vacation as a family was a success. We managed to get a descent amount of sleep and the kids didn’t go too crazy in the motel. But I suppose that will all change when we start over in a few weeks with a newborn! Maybe another trip in a couple of years!
