Back in March, we took a family day out to O'Leno State Park.

Easter Egg Hunts - Family
The month of April was all about Easter egg hunts. The kids participated in 6 total egg hunts. After number 5, Mathias told me "Mama I think I've found enough eggs." Thankfully they both pushed through. Here are some photos from the first couple.
We started with an egg hunt at Mema's house. This was Analy's first and she figured it out quickly.
Mathias sat out this hunt. He had a fit about something and was too upset to participate. Thankfully, his sweet sister shared her loot.
Analy figured out pretty quick that there was candy in the eggs. She decided she'd rather eat than hunt.
The family (notice Mathias still having a fit)
The next day we had an egg hunt at Nana and Pop's. Mathias was ready for this one. He raced around the yard finding eggs.
Checking out his loot.
Analy preferred the shade during this hunt. She actually wanted to sit on the porch and just watch Mathias but we did coax her to hunt for a bit.
Checking out her loot on the porch with Pop.
My next post will cover the other 5 hunts of the season. Stay tuned...

Checking out what the easter bunny brought.
All dressed up for church. (Don't worry he does eventually add a smile.)

What a week!
I have to start off by bragging on Mathias. We've attempted potty training several times over the past year with no luck. On Monday, I decided to give it another go. To begin with, I have never had to beg, bribe, and negotiate so much in my life. Finally, he has given it a try. He has been wearing pull-ups all week, a huge step itself because he always throws a fit for his "baby diapers"! Each day has been better than the last. Today he's actually telling me he needs to go potty! He's probably going to gain 50lbs from all the candy bribes and we'll be broke from buying "special prizes." Also, no one bothered to tell me how messy potty training can be. At least before all the mess was in a diaper, now it's all over my bathroom at times! But praise the Lord, we are making huge progress!
Enough about my poor child's bodily functions. For fun today, we met up with friends at the splash park to play and have a picnic. The kids had a blast! (And both took wonderful naps when we got home, as did mommy!)
Here are some photos of the splashing good time!

First Fishing
We were blessed with a wonderful visit to GA last week. Mathias and Analy got their first fishing poles from Nana and Pop. So we headed down to my Uncle's pond to give them some action. Thankfully, it's the type pond where you can throw anything in and get a bite immediately. Perfect for the 2 year old fisherman! Mathias was soooo excited. He had a blast and has been begging to go back.
Here's Mathias with his first catch.
Analy even had to get a close look.
Proud fisherman.
"Fish Flopping"
Mathias and Daddy waiting for the "big one."They didn't have to wait long. They hooked a big catfish and managed to get it in on a "Cars" fishing pole with 6 lb test line!
Mathias caught several brim and a couple of more catfish. It was the perfect first fishing experience for him. I think he's "hooked"!
