My doctor decided that Evelyn Grace would join our family on Thursday August 1! I had been to the doctor on Monday and shared that I felt like my liver cholestasis had returned again this pregnancy. Basically, I itch on my hands and feet with a rise in my bile acid levels. So my doctor sent me for blood work. The catch was that Jamie had a meeting in South Carolina and would be flying out Tuesday morning and returning Thursday afternoon (yes, leaving me with 3 kids and 36 weeks pregnant!). Part of my blood work results came in Tuesday morning and looked fine so Jamie got the green light to travel. Unfortunately, the rest came Wednesday and my bile acid levels were high so my doctor scheduled my c-section for the next day. Jamie spent Wednesday night driving home!
By Thursday morning, everyone was here to welcome our baby girl. We had to be at the hospital at 10am. Here I am at 36 weeks and 5 days, the last “baby bump” photo!
Our last photo as a family of five! The kids were very eager to meet their little sister.

Evelyn Grace Leigh Ellis arrived at 1:55pm. She weighed 5 lbs, 15 oz and was 18.5 inches long.
Our first meeting.
Jamie with Evelyn back in our room. This time everyone was allowed to wait in our room for the baby. There is no nursery anymore so the baby comes straight back to the room from the OR.

The greeting committee! There is definitely no lack of love for this little baby! Her siblings are crazy about her. We play “pass the baby” all day long.
